Carbon Accounting
Carbon accounting has become an essential part of companies’ sustainability efforts, especially in relation to sustainability reporting. Preparing a carbon account provides companies with a detailed overview of their carbon impact, forming the foundation for targeted reduction measures and ambitious targets.
How can Transition help you?
Transition’s consultants can assist you in preparing climate accounts in accordance with the GHG Protocol. We structure the workflow, support data collection, calculate greenhouse gas emissions, and handle the reporting.
Additionally, we can conduct hotspot analyses that map significant emissions and identify reduction potentials. Transition’s consultants can support you through individual advisory sessions or training courses tailored to your specific needs.
Transition’s consultants prepare carbon accounting in accordance with the GHG Protocol using an in-house developed calculation tool. This ensures full transparency regarding the company’s scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, collected data, emissions factors, and data quality.
As part of this process, you will receive:
- A thorough introduction to climate accounting with introduction to scope 1, 2 and 3
- Workshop on specific scope 3 categories relevant for your company
- A structured data collection process
- Ongoing dialogue through online meetings
- A climate account fully aligned with the GHG Protocol, delivered both as a written report and within Transition’s calculation tool.
If desired, this process can be combined with a hotspot analysis, where Transition’s consultants map significant emissions and identify potential reductions.
Transition’s in-house developed calculation tool is auditor-approved for CSRD reporting.
Transition’s consultants do also prepare the carbon accounting in accordance with the GHG Protocol using the Danish Business Authority’s open-source climate accounting tool, ‘klimakompasset’
