Energy Management

Energy Management

Data-driven energy management involves the analysis of building data and energy consumption. This method combines technology and management practices to continuously identify energy saving opportunities and improve energy comsumption  leading to financial savings.

How can Transition help you?

We consult companies and organizations on how to implement data-driven energy management by creating the right data foundation and building a management system in close collaboration with your team.

Organizations vary in their progress toward reducing energy consumption. We support you from your specific starting point. We provide an overview of the different software solutions available, and if a standard solution isn’t suitable, we can develop custom tools in Excel, Power BI, or similar programs.

Key elements of data-driven energy management

We can assist you with all aspects of data-driven energy management. This means we work with you to implement a comprehensive management system that includes both digital tools and procedures for energy management based on efficient data collection and structured handling. We often use ISO 50001 as a vantage point for management system development.

The approach to data-driven energy management is:

  • Needs analysis
  • Data collection
  • Data structuring
  • Data visualization
  • Operation and implementation

Read about the different steps below.

Through system analysis and anthropology, we work with you to uncover the actual need for data-driven energy management ensuring a balance between investment and benefit. This should be done on a need-to-have and nice-to-have basis.

We can assist you in collecting data directly from the utility providers supplying your buildings with energy and waterWe can also support you in developing and implementing a prioritized strategy for installing your own hardware for data collection and measurement

The quality of data is crucial to the effectiveness of the effort. We help you assess whether data structuring should be part of an integrated Energy management system (EMS) or have a standalone infrastructure within your organizations.

If you choose to build a dedicated data warehouse to handle the data structuring, we can help you find a provider or support the development and implementation of your own data warehouse.

Based on the needs assessment, we help you select or develop solutions for visualizing data and setting up consumption reports and alerts. Everything is technically possible. Our focus is on finding the solution that meets your actual needs. If no suitable solution exists, we can help design a custom one, for example in Power Bi.

In close collaboration with management and staff, we develop procedures and action plans for working with energy management. It is through this work that the true value of energy management is realized.
